    Jamie's Story - March 2010

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Jamie Smith was laid off from her job as an education reporter in October 2009. Now, she's pursuing freelance PR work and is in the process of planning a home-based business expo. iReporter BarbRad is following Smith's progress throughout 2010. You can find past interviews here and here.
    - katie, CNN iReport producer

When we last saw Jamie, she was looking for a full-time job as a journalist and had just taken a very big plunge into planning a home-based business expo.

Now, in March, her Spring into Business Expo is SOLD OUT.  Representatives of the Arkansas State Government will be attending to give one-on-one information on how to start businesses.  People will be selling their wares, networking and offering workshops...it all sounds very exciting.

In addition to planning her event and job hunting, Jamie is also doing the public relations work for a non-profit corporation called Victory Walk.  The Lemke's founded Victory Walk after their son had a fell from a roof and became a quadraplegic.  They learned everything they could about physical therapy and opened up their own non-profit business specializing in providing top flight physical therapy to people who don't have insurance.

Jamie Smith appears to be having the time of her life meshing her Christian values with PR work.
