Flooding in the Plains |
Red River Flooding at Grand Forks
- jsarverCNN, CNN iReport intern
The Red River of the North is rising quickly in Grand Forks, ND, also. City workers are busy putting in the temporary flood walls and the Greenway is now closed due to flooding of the bike and pedestrian paths. The bottom of the flood marker is now under water. Trees that used to mark the banks of the Red River are now well within the river's waters. One of the factors for flooding is the ice jamming down river. Here in Grand Forks (about 80 miles north of Fargo) there is still a lot of ice on the river.
