The Wall of Palestine
The Middle Eastern Student Society (MESS), along with the Muslim Student Association (MSA) took center stage at the free speech quad at California State University Fullerton (CSUF) on March 17, 2010 for the second day in a row with a 10 foot high by 60 foot long replication of the wall in Palestine.
The wall was full of photos, quotes, and statistics from the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. The wall was built back in 2004 and has been used at several campuses across Southern California. The wall is divided into 14 panels and is double sided.
At the beginning of the video, Taher Herzallah a 3rd year student from University of California Riverside, majoring in Political Science was explaining the situation in Israel to Artun Ereren and 3rd year History major at CSUF.
Herzallah said that traveling from Jordan to the Gaza Strip took over 6 hours in checkpoints in a recent trip that he took. The wall has separated families, friends, and some from their own backyard.
The wall got many people‘s attention at CSUF due to the dramatic display of the Palestinian side of events.
The photos on tabs 2-10 are some close up shots of what is actually on the wall.
