This iReport is part of an assignment:
Passions over health care reform |
What about the poor?
My wife suffers from bi-polar disorder. I am thankful to have full benefits with my employer. I can only imagine the expense if we were not insured. We have access to good doctors as well as discount prescriptions. She must see a doctor monthly as well. It is my belief that the majority of America's homeless people are the mentally ill who have family members who can no longer afford adequate healthcare. The system will not pay for those folks to receive ongoing treatment, therefore they probably fall through the cracks of society.
