    Street Party and updates

    From the Blarney Stone Tavern in DublinSL, Vickie Maidstone

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Good evening everyone and a Happy St. Patrick's day to you, where this evening I was able to TP back to the Blarney for a rocking good time street party with DJ Collette Chadbourne and her hostess Thecupcake Ember. I TP'ed in a half hour before the beginning of the party and upon arrival at the landing point was hit with a lot of lag as a result of so many people in Dublin 1. It took me several minutes of fighting the lag as I made my way up the street to the party and it was about to start at 4p.m. slt time, Collette told me in an IM she had trouble getting in to the sim to set up and take the stream and to get everything running. during the course of the two and half hour party I crashed myself even and made numerous attempts to get back and finally got back for the remainder of the party. Towards the end however the sim itself crashed and a mad scramble was on for those to get back was on, (gotta blame the green beer)!!! LOL, anyway the pictures are from the party and everyone had a wonderful time as always.

    ==========================================

    Now earlier in the day I had a wonderful chance to attend a fashion show that was being held at this year's RFL Clothing Faire. The program was moderated by LadyKay Gable who did a marvelous job of describing the various outfits worn by the models of RE Magazine, from casual to the most beautiful evening gowns that can also be bought at the faire from top designers around the world, I also made my way by TP from my wonderful friend Marissa Goodliffe 200 meters away at the stage for what would become one of the most unforgettable concerts I ever attended by the group LabGraal, Sheela Nagy and the group arrived a few minute before 1p.m. slt to take the stage but had a difficult time getting Gyot Greenwood the drummer into the stage. After he finally made it in they began the concert and at one point it was a show stopper when Sheela sang her rendition of "Amazing Grace" accompanied by LokiGraal Merlin on bagpipes and Naval Roux on the keyboard, the crowd literally went to a standing ovation that stopped the show for several minutes as the crowd show them how much the song meant and even me I was in tears as the song was sung to the memory of Lachlan Cambell who past away last year prior to the relay. Certainly a highlight of my day in SL was fun,enjoyable and overall a wonderful St' Patrick's Day well spent.
