Passions over health care reform |
Health Care: a Real Solution
The problem I see is, The Health Care Bill which is apparently unwritten, isn't about helping the poor get health care. Looking back on American history, one can see the government hasn't fared well at charity. When our Government sends charity to other governments, only a small % gets to those in need. usually days later. Private and religious charities have a far higher rate of success.
We are the most charitable nation on Earth, recent earthquakes have shown that. But it also shows we are less charitable to our brothers. We expect the government to handle it. Why? we already know the government is inefficient and ineffective. Katrina! The Red Cross and Salvation Army do better at relief.
I propose that we instead of forming another massive bureaucracy, we take all this money and resources currently being wasted on the health care debate, and form a charity to address aiding the poor in health care.
Granted, it won't help out the unions, who face short falling in benefit budgets, they are the major money behind health care reform. However it would get assistance to those who need it.
All those Performers who are concerned for health care for the poor, can donate time to the cause that will actually accomplish something.
If the government passes Tarp, along with the private national charity assisting the poor to pay their health care cost, would bring down the actual cost of health care greatly, without one penny in new tax.
Neighbor helping Neighbor is what made America Great.
