This iReport is part of an assignment:
Sound-off |
"God Hates Fags", Westboro Baptist Church's Offensive Profile Picture and Facebook Policy
Users on Facebook have been reporting to Facebook about the Hate Speech evident in Westboro Baptist Church's profile picture, which shows up in a public search, for at least 24 hours now, and Facebook seemingly hasn't done anything about it. Facebook has been extremely quick to get rid of images that contain nudity and what they deem as obscene on profiles whether it's artistic expression or not. So why haven't they reacted so quickly with an image that is blatantly offensive to many and filled with slander? Images like the one posted by the Church should be kept private on Facebook to their "friends", as they do have freedom of speech, but shouldn't be available for a public search.
