When will the Arabic people get out of the dark ages?

In reference to the Lebanese reporter, Al Hussain Sibad, which was charged with sorcery by a Saudi Arabian court and condemned to be executed to dead, it is sad to see that in many parts of the world they still live in the dark ages.

The Arabic and Islamic world is claiming that they are fighting for recognition.

Even in the XIII century, the great advances in astronomy and astrology were made possible by the Arabic astronomers that study the stars to predict the future. Where they also condemned to death? No.

It is bad enough the Catholic Church did it. But that was 500 years ago.

I respect the traditional and religious views of each country.

However, it is difficult to look to a country, like Saudi Arabia, with all its wealth, knowledge and progress and it can still put people to death for sorcery.

To see a king, like King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, that seemed so knowledge of the world around him, flaw ting his riches, he still acts like an illiterate Bedouin in the middle of the desert, letting a man be condemned to dead, because on TV show, he says he can predict the future. That, your Majesty, is TV land not reality.

I would believe that by now a country like Saudi Arabia would be civilized enough to understand that predicting the future, if such exist, is not sorcery.

I am a European catholic and contrary to many westerns, I read Islamic history and many parts of the Koran.

The great prophet Mohammed, peace is with Him, asks for people to be merciful and compaction, even with its enemies.

If you, King Abdullah, believe in what it is written in the Holly Koran, by showing to the Arab people and to the world, the true meaning of Islam, you should give the example and be compassioned and free Al Hussain Sibat.
