Pearl Tower in Shanghai
My boyfriend and I met the MV Explorer, the Semester at Sea ship, in Shanghai and sailed with the 585 students, faculty and staff to Hong Kong and Vietnam. They continued on around the world. This is a picture of the Pearl Tower which sits on the Huangpu River, on the new Pudong side of Shanghai. It is 1535 feet and, until 2007, was the tallest structure in China. There are several observation levels including the uppermost which has a glass deck installed in 2009. Underneath the tower is a fabulous museum highlighting the history of Shanghai.
