Saigon, Vietnam

This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel Snapshots: Paris |
Saigon
These two pictures show the vast differences in types of lifestyles in Vietnam today. The entrance to the Saigon river is sparsely populated and very dense with jungle. Occaisionally you see a small fishing boat. The further up the river you go, closer to Ho Chi Minh City, the more populated the river becomes, until you see skyscrapers and traffic in the city. The city streets are packed with motorbikes and the drivers stop at nothing. As our guide said as he instructed us in how to cross the street, "just step off the curb, pray and keep walking". In Vietnam you see everything from rice paddies being tended to by farmers with oxen to 5 star hotels.
