LYDIA CORNELL BACK IN THE SPOTLIGHT WALK IN HER SHOES BENEFIT DOMESTIC ABUSE SURVIVORS

    iReport —

Photos: Lydia Cornell Today. HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm with Larry David. Lydia's portrait will be auctioned off tonight at Photographer Amy Martin-Friedman's event to benefit Safe Passage Home at Fred Segal's in Santa Monica, California.

Lydia Cornell is an award-winning actress, writer, blogger, comedienne, and talk-radio host — best known for her starring role as Ted Knight's dazzlingly beautiful, daffy blonde daughter 'Sara Rush' in ABC's hit 80's series "Too Close for Comfort."

She is a veteran comedienne who most recently appeared on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Kelsey Grammer-Bill Zucker Comedy Hour on Kelsey Live http://www.KelseyLive.com and Dean Grakal's upcoming film Me, Miami and Nancy costarring Robert Downey, Jr., Jon Bon Jovi, Gary Oldman, Sara Silverman, Cloris Leachman, Malcolm McDowell and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler. She also appeared in Roy Burdine's critically acclaimed indie Damage Done; Miss Supreme Queen (Best Actress Nominee Method Fest); Happy Holidaze from the Jonzes and her own Venus Conspiracy.

On March 24, Cornell hits the stage in Pain is Inevitable, Sex Optional, her original three-woman show at the Whitefire Theatre in Studio City — written with costars Destiny Smith (The Tonight Show) and Stephanie Hodge (Unhappily Ever After.) A prolific writer, Cornell has written an historical novel about Stalin and Trotsky; various screenplays, and 40 episodes of a TV series based on her upcoming humor books.

One of the most original humor voices in America today, Lydial is about to break out on a much larger level. She just finished writing a series of books, which will become movies and TV series. She is on the verge of a new beginning after taking a break from the limelight to "find her soul, overcome certain demons... become a writer, wife, mother, comedienne and teen mentor. She has a lot of wisdom to share, and is as stunning as ever.

Lydia Cornell is a Peoples' Choice winner, AFI Best Actress nominee.

Recipient of the USO Distinguished Service Award for Beirut war zone trip, Lydia Cornell has been Invited to contribute her writings to The International Museum of Peace, which houses letters from Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Mother Teresa, Maya Angelou & Sir Edmund Hillary.

Lydia starred in over 250 TV shows & films including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Full House, Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, A-Team, Hunter, Hardball, Hotel (2), Love Boat (6), Fantasy Island, T.J. Hooker and the pilot of the cult series Quantum Leap with Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. She signed hundreds of autographs at their convention earlier this year in Los Angeles. She co-starred with three Oscar winners James Earl Jones, Jose Ferrer and Lila Kedrova in The Red Tide, shot in the Greek Isles.

John Conley, a disabled Marine combat vet, sent her his Purple Heart for her courage in standing up to Ann Coulter's 'extermination speak' in her article “Death is Sexier than Sex.”

Cornell is a Synesthete (has Synesthesia) common to a growing number of gifted artists, writers and musicians, including David Hockney. Synesthetes see colors when hearing sounds, taste shapes, and see numbers and letters in color. The World Symposium on Synesthesia convened in Belgium last year.

She started experiencing the 11:11 phenomenon in 1994, when she experienced a "catastrophic spiritual awkening." From that moment on, everything changed in her life.
