Larry King Live: Your questions |
Hoarding for survival
Yes, I acknowledge that I'm a hoarder. I'm hoarding for survival. I'm 53, recently diagnosed with cataracts, without health care because anything from the neck up is called a pre-existing condition due to retinal detachment surgery 20 years ago. This is what I mean by hoarding for survival. Every item in these awful pictures has to be turned into money. A lifetime's accumulation of clothes, collections, and electronics items--everything must go. I have an organized kitchen, bathroom and bedroom in a tiny trailer in Missouri. I own the trailer, and I'm giving up everything else in order to survive another month, and then another month. I wish I could work, but that doesn't make sense because no health insurance will cover my eye problems and I can't work if I can't see. I'm screwed. But I'm not giving up. I'm selling everything I can, and trying to work through the endless lists to keep my head above water. Hoarding makes sense for me now.
