The Beauty of the Day after a Winter Storm in Colorado
While the calendar tells us that it is nearly spring, it was winter for Colorado on Friday with nearly two feet of snow in the foothills just west of Denver while parts of Denver picked up 6 to 8 inches of snow.
This morning Denver woke up to temperatures of around 14 degrees and here in Evergreen, a mountain town just west of Denver, the thermometer was reading just a little above zero degrees F with cobalt blue skies.
But what a contrast today as at this time yesterday the Front Range foothills and Denver was experiencing heavy snow that closed schools, caused a number of accidents closed Interstate 25 just north of Denver and along the Colorado – New Mexico border, and triggered isolated power outages.
For today – another beautiful day to enjoy the snow and the spring like conditions as another snow making storm is due to blanket the region with more snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday. March and April are the snowiest months for the eastern Rockies.
