Washington DC -- Pres. Obama & Health Care Protest

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     AW2010 tells CNN there were several thousand people lining the streets of DC this afternoon in protest of the health care bill Congress is considering. She says "many people shouted angrily as they shook their homemade signs," but on the whole, "order was maintained."
    - aarcher, CNN iReport producer

I just came back from the grounds of the Capitol.  President Obama was inside, addressing Members of Congress on health care.

Outside, people filled the streets along Independence Avenue by the House Office buildings as well as the entrance to the Capitol.  Many held homemade signs expressing their stance on health care.  Many folks shouted, "Kill the Bill."

Prior to the President's arrival, I could see Capitol Police, Secret Service, K-9 units and sharpshooters.  One lookout policeman appeared to be part of the Capitol Dome facade. (#6)

I saw numerous Members of Congress leaving the Capitol, including Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr., (D-IL).  Rep. Jackson was busy taking pictures of the protestors with a Blackberry in each hand, (#9).
