What Scottish Muslims Have Against Rebel The Police Dog
A few days ago the London Daily Mail published an article stating that Scottish Muslims were up in arms in regards to the dog pictured above known as Rebel. This puppy is the newest member of the police force and was also a part of a public awareness campaign informing the public of a new phone number that they may call for non police emergencies. Mailers were printed out and sent directly to the public's homes as well posters to be displayed in local shops. Shortly thereafter the Scottish Muslim community expressed outrage at the site of the dog displayed in the public service campaign informing police that dogs were ritually unclean. Councilor Asif a member of the Police Board stated that the department had a diversity adviser however was unaware that the flyers and cards would cause such a problem. Shopkeepers are afraid to display the flyers for fear of drawing anger from the Muslim community. As a British national put it so well "Wait a minute. Has the country gone barking mad?". What do you think?
