Times Square Walk in My Shoes...with "sjunat55"

Spring has sprung at the Crossroads of the World, and it's time to get out there and make the most of the gorgeous weather.

On Saturday, March 20, 2010, I went to Times Square with my friend, and fellow i-reporter, Julio Ortiz-Teissonniere (sjunat55) where we took a walk in the Crossroads of the World.

In my video, I start walking from 45th Street onto Broadway - where I encounter a group of Andean musicians, then get blasted by the sound of blaring sirens, give a nod to Frank Sinatra, run into the very lovely and talented Miss Sandy Kane, aka the famous "Naked Cowgirl," and end up where Julio's black and white sneakers are waiting.

Mention Times Square and people are sure to know what you're talking about. Times Square is one of the most photographed landmarks in the entire world.  It is principally defined by its bright lights, animated digital advertisements, New Year's Eve celebrations, parades, protests, demonstrations, street performers and all around incredible energy....  And those are just a few of things I, myself, have photographed there.  Times Square has achieved the status of an iconic world landmark and has become a symbol of New York City.   It offers a unique combination of creativity, energy and edge that attracts visitors from across the globe, and have made it an icon for entertainment, culture and urban life for over a century.

I like that the video begins with the sound of the Andean musicians, then fades to the sound of sirens, then to the sound of The Naked Cowgirl strumming her guitar and singing.  Everything happens at once in Times Square and it never stops.

Here's to the city that doesn't sleep!  New York, New York.
