    The Botnet Warfare

Microsoft has been trying to take down the Waledac Botnet for a while and is still working on doing so.  "The worm looks dead", Jose Nazario said. This nasty Botnet was once a bug threat, but it seems that all of  it is either dying off or or going down in flames. The botnet was controlled via by Internet domains and all had the .com namespace. See bots are little zombie computers that hunt down and infect other computers via networks. So these kinds of attacks are a series of using a VPN(Virtual Private Network) to hide the hackers tracks and when the hackers gain access into the victims computers their is no telling what they will do.

The Waledac Botnet is a strange botnet because it used a set of multiple domains like I metioned before to power it.Which is a very new,but still strange way to build a botnet. One of the most recent and dangerous botnets that took control of 12 million computers was the Mariposa Botnet and this botnet was very dangerous.

The Mariposa Botmasters used a type of software that was made to develop these botnets and it seemed now that authorities have found new information that a lot of users were allowed to play the botnet game and contribute to this nasty project. The botnet masters who designed this bot had tons of bank information. Many of the US major banks were targeted as well, but universities like the one up in Canada were targeted as well.Which reported that it had been the subject of an attack.

As more botnets get created it will be ineteresting to see if anyone comes up with a solution to stop these guys. The question that remains is can we stop these guys?

This is intresting, but very scary indeed.
