Passions over health care reform |
The time is now for health care reform
I am recovering, thank God, from a two year battle with cancer. It left me in $50,000 of debt and I have health insurance. I have a son and struggle to make all of my myriad of monthly payments as I still have medical costs and now cannot get out of the "pre-existing condition" bracket for ten years or more with the current laws. I understand why bankruptcy is the only option and perhaps could be what I am forced to do should anything happen like my husband losing his job. My friend was just diagnosed and is about to start her battle on Tuesday. We are already fundraising for her. Fundraising. I think it is shameful that in this great country, we, as a community of friends have to fundraise to make sure our friend gets the best care she can.
This vote is about who we are as a nation. Do we care for our own or do we turn our backs when things are hard?
Please Congress, do the right thing, the best thing for the American people....it's a start....and we have to start.....Please pass health care reform today.
