House Democrats Pass Historic Health Care Bill But The Fight Isn't Over
- rachel8, CNN iReport producer
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Historic Health Care Reform Bill tonight! Congratulations to Nancy Pelosi, Bart Stupak, House Democrats and President Obama on their courage, conviction, and tenacity to push through the most meaningful legislation since the Civil Rights Bill was passed in this country.
The fight has just begun. Insurance companies will immediately begin cutting people with a history of illness and raising premiums so they can get ahead of this law as did the banks on the credit card reform.
I hope Congress sees the necessity of expanding Medicare to younger Americans and a public insurance program as competition to insurance companies to counter this anticipated move.
