Lindsay-BBC defraud Indian VISA authorities.
Report by Ketan Tirodkar
Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan might be an unwelcome guest in India as she has rubbed the government as well as social activists the wrong way. The ''Mean Girls'' star had falsely claimed that she had rescued 40 child workers and also broke the country's visa rules by travelling as a tourist while working on a BBC documentary, reported The Telegraph.
"Over 40 children saved so far ... Within one day's work ... This is what life is about ... Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!" she had posted on Twitter.
But according to activists leading the raids, Ms Lohan did not arrive in India until after the raids had been completed and the children had been rescued.
She later contrasted the superficiality of celebrity life with the satisfaction of social activism.
"Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time ... hope everyone can see that," she said.
To add to things, Lohan may not be able to visit India again after officials found that she had failed to apply for a work visa for her trip. The government will now decide whether her name will be added to an immigration blacklist.
It is now learnt from the Indian VISA authortities that the news channel BBC had aided Ms. Lihab in defrauding the entry into India under the guise of the channel's assignment.
