This iReport is part of an assignment:
Health care reform and you
Whatever happened to freedom?
Okay, folks, so what part of the passing of this "healthcare reform bill" equates to freedom? Have any of you commentors taken the time to read this bill? I know most of our so-called elected leaders DID NOT read this bill, because it is nearly 2,000 pages long, plus or minus any changes that have been made since I last read through it several months ago.
First: I can be fined and/or jailed because I will refuse to take this healthcare package. I WILL refuse. I WILL sue over it.
Second: If this is such a good idea, why is the healthcare in this bill going to be rationed? The word ration is replaced with other fancy words, but that's what it boils down to: you'd better only get sick and/or injured just so many times in a year, otherwise your benefits are used up for the year!
Third: Our country is theorectically $12 trillion in debt (that's $12,000,000,000,000, yes, that many digits), and with an at-least $940 billion dollar price tag, that will bring it to nearly $13 trillion. Where is that many going to come from? The private bank known as the Federal Reserve?
Folks, year after year the Federal Government is far exceeding its power. The Constitution is no longer the law of the land, and something drastic has to be done about it. Each individual state is imbued with more power than that of the combined Federal Government, and We the People have far more power than that! Stop this nonsense.
We need permission for everything: permission to drive, permission to marry, to fish and hunt and carry self-defense, all in the form of a license. When is this madness going to stop??? Anybody interested in discourse and not mud-flinging can write to my e-mail address at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you're just going to be a name caller, please don't bother, I get enough spam.
