Rice and Curry from Sri Lanka

If we eat a well balanced meal, we could and would lead a healty  and long life.  Our staple diet is Rice, you get various kinds of rice white rice and the red rice, the red rice is the most nutritional and unlike its counter part the white rice which loses its value once boiled, the red rice is good for those having diabetes.  But between you and me I prefer the white samba rice, you need a lot of curry to eat the red rice.

So I have a beetroot curry along with fried and cooked ladies fingers, and fish cooked, for a little bit of taste you could fry a pappadam, which is something like a flat pancake fried in boiling hot oil, when it swells up, its like a fried potato chip, only larger.

Most of the Sri Lankan eat a lot of vegetables, they are very health concsious and careful in whatever they eat (hehehehe unlike me!!!)  you dont get obese children here, as they eat mallung and a lot of green leaves, of course you get one two folks like yours truly who loves to eat anything fried like bacon and eggs, KFC, and stuff,
