    Manhattan Skyline Now and Then

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     sjunat55 kept a folded magazine photo of the New York City skyline framed on his desk after September 11. He found the contrast of the skyline against the setting sun so striking. Finding where the photo was taken, was a huge challenge: “I knew it was Brooklyn because the tower with the antenna was to the right as you looked west, but it took me about 3 hours Sunday to find what I thought it could be, and by chance I took my first look at the new Brooklyn Bridge Park, just opened a week or so ago,” he said.

    I'm holding a portion of a photo called "Stay Strong New York" by Jamie Casertano. I saved it from the pages of a magazine and kept it as a memory of that vibrant New York City skyline.

    I hold it against the skyline of today, without the two towers that defined it for so many years.
