    Review the iPad

Easy, fast, powerful, useful...shall I go on?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     aborne told me, 'It is all it's cracked up to be, but I think the term "magical" is hyperbole. It certainly is responsive (more than the iPod Touch) a great size, easy for kids to use, useful for adults. A little of the heavy side. The screen is excellent, and the button placement is good. The sound quality is good. I wish it came standard with a calculator or a mathematical "graphing" app like every macintosh out of the box. The free Winnie the Pooh book was a nice touch.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

First, my one and only criticsm, it's a bit heavy. The back side is chunk of aluminium and this pad is packed with dense circuitry. The tendons in your forearm will be sore if you hold it one handed too long.

    OTHER THAN THAT...

It is a remarkable device. Try "Star Walk - iPad Version" which is $4 and you'll feel like you're in the future. The productivity software which has been missing on the iPhone is finally practical, due to the bigger screen, and a "big iPod Touch" it may be, but the screen makes all the difference. Audio, Video, interactive apps, this is the pinnacle of information consumption technology.

As a teacher, I'm looking at this thing as an educational device, and I feel that kids can really use this thing to make learning fun. While I don't feel "edutainment" is a silver bullet to poor educational opportunities, I sure like it for enrichment.
