Earthquake Rocks The Pacific and Mexico: Al's Interviews
- hhanks, CNN iReport producer
The 7.2 Quake was the largest in the Southern California / Northern Mexico area since the 1998 Landers shaker. The vertical fault strike - slip rupture was felt by over 20 million people, according to Dr Lucy Jones at Cal Tech.
I interviewed the employees of the Easter Market, and a family that has relatives in Mexicalli, Mexico, that was about 25 miles from the epicenter.
The quake was widely felt in Moreno Valley, and there was minor damage thru out the region. The rides at Disneyland and Knotts Berry farm were shut down as a precaution, and some windows were blown out at the LA Sports Arena.
I also interviewed my family and neighbors at home in Moreno Valley.
See my next report for further interviews, and actual video taken during the quake - A CNN Ireporter Al Mealey Exclusive!
