    God Bless The Coal Miners

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     karascurlock says she is amazed at her husband's tenacity working in the coal mines despite his brother's accident in 2003. 'I have never been in a coal mine, nor would I want to. These guys are brave men who do not get recognized enough. [My husband] stays congested from the dust and sore from being on his knees and hunched over all night.'

    My husband's brother Rodney Scurlock(on left) was the one who was killed in 2003 at Massey.  My husband, Brian, left the mines and only went back to support our family in 2005.  I was so scared last night when I turned on the computer and read 30 miles south of Charleston...THANK GOD it was not his mines he is at now.  I have never been so happy to hear his LOUD truck pull in the driveway...I just held him close all night and didn't want him to leave today for work...Please keep the coal miners in your prayers and know who keeps your lights on!  Here is a prayer that we have on a plaque at home:

     

    God Bless the WV Coal Miners

    Let's all say a prayer as they enter in

    GOD let them come out and see daylight again.
