    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Amerikanka and another friend said they were able to make their way to the square easily without feeling like they were in any danger. 'We did not see a single police or military officer during our entire walk, or throughout the hour that we spent in the square.'

    Despite the footage being shown widely in the media, the vast majority of the thousands gathered in Ala Too Square where calm, quiet, and relaxed.  Many were perched on the nearest park bench or curb side, lending little more to the protest than their black-clad figures.

     

    Unless you were looking for trouble, this is the scene you would have found at the protests around 7pm on April 7th.
