    One Day Without Shoes, Concordia Style

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     giapoo4 says most people in the video went without shoes for pretty much the whole day to bring awareness of what it's like to not have shoes. She says the weather was pretty cool so no one burned their feet, but there were a few complaints of stubbed toes and such. You can see giapoo4's feet in this video riding on a longboard. 'Can you imagine how hard it is to do that every day? Can you imagine how hard it is to do that every day of your whole life?' she asks.

    On April 8th, students from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota took the phrase "walk a mile in someone else's shoes" to heart during the TOM's "One Day Without Shoes" event. The goal of event was to experience a life without shoes firsthand, and to help spread awareness of the impact a simple pair of shoes can bring to a child's life.

     

    The TOMS shoes organization is founded on the One for One business model - for every pair of shoes purchased, another pair is sent to a child overseas.
