Do you swear by your Neti Pot?

    Gross, but so Good.

I admit it.  I am a saline irrigation junky.   Some say I am way to familiar with boogers.  Mine, my children, even those who are around me.  I feel I am just well informed.

I had never used a Net Pot until January 2009.  I had just had sinus surgery, to help remove decades of sinus infection, allergy and scar tissue.  To help move the process of healing along, my ENT suggested I use a Neti Pot.   While the idea of sticking something up your nose under normal conditions, is a bit scary.  Try it after sinus surgery when touching your nose is painful, putting a t-shirt on is an act of faith, and now you want me to shove water through my sinus cavity.

Since using the Neti Pot, I have told everyone about it.  If anyone complains about sinus pressure, drainage, sore throat, or congestion, I tell them to irrigate.  The first thing they say is, "I can not believe how much stuff came out of my nose."  It is truly amazing, in a very gross and disturbing way.

When ever I feel congested, I go and irrigate my nose.  It relieves the pressure and cleans it all out.    It works so well that since 2010, I have not had any sinus infection.  I am sure that the sinus surgery is the main help, but a little irrigation and allergy tablet once a day seems to allow me to breath no matter what is blooming, in Texas.
