High School French Club stuck in France

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     KHelwig of Neenah, Wisconsin, says her 15-year-old daughter, Megan, is stuck in Paris after her flight home from her French Club trip was canceled. "She didn't sound worried. They're just definitely ready to get home. They probably don’t even have any clean clothes and are low on money. But they're all in pretty good spirits," she said. She spoke with her daughter this morning and heard that the group thinks they will be able to leave on Tuesday.

A group of high school students from Neenah, Wisconsin, is scheduled to leave France at 9:30am Saturday morning. After spending 15 days touring the country, 7 days in Paris and 7 days with a host family, they are currently staying at a hotel near the airport awaiting their much anticipated flight home. However, Mother Nature has another plan for them and their families. The volcanic ash is now allowing any planes in or out of the country so these kids, along with thousands of other travelers, are stuck in limbo. I am the mother of one of the kids on the trip. I am anxiously awaiting to hear when their flight will be available. Stay tuned for more!
