This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Parenting with disabilities

    Morgan Family

My husband and both Cerebral Palsy. Mine is  a motor issue while my husband mainly has a slight speech impediment. Between our vast abilities we are very successful in our parenting. Our two children, Maggie (14) and Brendan (12) are involved in community and school activities. We have been involved as class parent, volunteers, etc. every step of the way.

When the children were younger I required assistance with diapers, etc. but they always know that we are their parents.

Life has not always been easy. My husband is an IT expert as well as working for a large accounting firm.  When my husband was laid off with 6,500 other people (due to a merger) in February 2003, it took 19 1/2 months to find a new job. At the time, he had just completed his MBA in Finance and Management. We worked to together.
