Dust Storm I-40 Closure Exit 233 to Winslow, AZ (approx. 20 miles)

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     IAMCNUSA observed the closure of I-40 yesterday due to a dust storm from where she was staying at the Meteor Crater RV Park. She went over to an overpass and took pictures of the vehicles stretching into the distance. She says she and her husband listened in to a CB radio and got a kick out of the drivers' conversations including a joke about how they should all take their foodstuffs and throw a barbecue on the interstate. 'The chatter between the truckers was incredible. It's like this piece of Americana you only get once in a lifetime.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

The I-40 was closed at 12:30 pm between Exit #233 and Winslow, AZ (approx. 20 miles).  The AZ State Hwy. is saying it may be closed until 5:30 pm due to the high winds and dust storm.

These are photo's taken from Exit #233 from the Overpass and Old Rte. 66.  We are staying at the Meteor Crater RV park and can see the back up from our site.

The CB chatter between the truckers is entertaining considering they have been stuck for hours.

Rain and high winds are moving in from the South/South West and the dust storm is hitting us from the North/North East.  It is a mess!
