Hundreds of South Floridians Provide Relief and Service during Day of Service 2010
Hundreds of volunteers with helping hands took to their South Florida streets and neighborhoods to provide both relief and service to private and public sectors in their communities on Saturday, April 24, 2010. From assisting the homeless in Ft. Lauderdale to beautifying neighborhoods and parks in Miami, volunteers both young and old were eager to help those in need during a time where economic hardships have fallen upon many families and local agencies.
These acts of service were affiliated with the 2nd Annual Day of Service organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Congregations from the Florida Keys to West Palm Beach linked arms with city, county and community organizations where more than 10,000 volunteer hours were rendered at nine locations.
