WAMU RESCINDS FORECLOSURE
In a history making turn of events a Washington Mutual
executive reversed the recent foreclosure of Susan McBride’s
home. After learning about the series of events that preceded the unannounced
foreclosure the executive extended apologies to the homeowner, via the real estate
agent, and rescinded
the foreclosure. This unprecedented maneuver was taken by
WAMU in order to facilitate the short sale that had been in the works for
months prior to an apparent accidental foreclosure.
The circumstances surrounding this story are true financial
hardships of the ilk that everyone hopes they’ll never have to endure. Failing health, repeat visits to Intensive
Care, job loss from the health issues and a long, long
runway of trying to keep up with payments using every possible means.
The short sale was nearly completed after going through
months of providing documentation, appraisal, and repeated calls. The foreclosure occurred in complete contrast to the work of the assigned negotiator, per the
notes read to the agent.
The executive at WAMU took all of this to heart and did what
she could to aid this situation and move forward with the short sale. “This never should have happened” stated the
executive.
In an age of what seems to be a never ending maze of huge
organizations that have lost the care of the consumer, this huge organization
has stepped out of the mold to prove that it is still possible and that care is not always lost. Sadly the hardship continues as Susan’s dream
man was taken by ambulance to the hospital again on Sunday. Our hearts and thoughts are with you and hubby!
