A Very Successful Global Love Day

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     JaneyBracken iReports on all the latest events in the virtual world of Second Life.
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

The first ever Global Love Day held virtually was a big success for Harold W Becker and his team from the Love Foundation Inc.  The 12 hour event in Second Life on May 1, had lots of visitors joining in the fun by dancing, meditating, watching videos and meeting the organisers.  They brought their own special love to everyone in-world.   I went back and joined in as they held their meditation session in-world.  They concentrated on sending their message of unconditional love throughout the planet.  Love Foundation founder and President Harold W Becker (avatar HB Eternal) joined the group and told us about a child who needed us all to send him our love, he is 14, and Harold told us “we have a special crystalline child who is asking for our assistance today to heal his body – and stand among us – he was born with a brain issue and has only his alphabet board to share his inspiration of love to the world.”  Harold told us that the child had been writing about love since he was three years old.  Harold added “He is of course, a TLF (The Love Foundation) Love Ambassador too.”  We all concentrated on the boy, sending him our love and best wishes.

I had to leave the meditation session, but returned later to see people dancing and having fun.  I met Barong Berboral, who wore a magnificent gorilla avatar, he told me “I was on this morning celebrating with everyone” he said “that’s when I met Rick and Philip, they've been really good friends to me”  Rick Zackerly and Philip McGillivary had made sure that everyone was very welcome and no one was left out.  As newbie Yoshibo Sparrowhawk arrived Rick made sure that she was introduced to the rest of the group and she soon felt at home.

I spoke to Harold W Becker yesterday and I congratulated him on the success of the event, he told me “It was amazing on so many levels - the reports from people's experiences are coming in and all are saying how much they felt the love this year.  The SL event was spectacular for a first ever.  I am now looking into the non-profit commons for the potential to bring The Love Foundation in on a permanent.”  He said about SL “And a wonderful additional dimension and reach for us since we are so global already - if you would have asked me two weeks ago, I would have been apprehensive and now I am excited by the opportunity.”  He told me that he knew how much the Global Love Day event in SL had meant to people and it had really moved him.  He said “They felt connected to us, the people and the event in ways they never could have” he continued “even the meditation was powerful.”

Harold is thinking of creating a meditation space in SL for weekly gatherings, he says it holds “lots of possibilities.”

Something that brings people together to share their spiritual love to everyone can only be positive, and I wish Harold and all his team luck with their future ventures both in real life and SL.

I would like to thank Harold W Becker (HB Eternal), Erik Grand (Erik Evermore), Rick Zackerly, JT Christos, Philip McGillivary, Peace Dragover, Deborealis Messioptra, Fleur Feila, Laceybabe Landar, Barong Berboral, Torian Carter, Catriona McConach and everyone else I met at the Global Love Day, for making me welcome.
