IRON MAN 2, Are You Ready to Rock?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Pixel told me, ' I felt like they could have added more banter to the relationship with Stark and Potts since that's were they left us. To me some of the twists and turns were a bit cliche'. There were some surprises though. Really action packed and I know viewers will like that.'

The long awaited Iron Man sequel will explode into Theatres Friday, May 7th!  I went to a press screening of Iron Man 2  at AMC IMAX theaters in Century City, California.  Will it meet the high standards audiences are expecting? Definitely yes!  Iron Man 2 was action packed. Robert Downey Jr.  is reprising his role as Tony Stark. a character from the Marvel comic books. Stark further develops his character as  an egocentric, narcissistic, playboy, with the intent to save the world, and bring about world peace. Since he is actually accomplishing this, his ego only grows. It's easy to swallow this "textbook narcissistic" character when it is delivered with humor and a boyish, mischievous, charm.  Robert Downey nails it.
Gwyneth Paltrow plays  Pepper Potts, now the newly appointed  CEO of Stark Industries.  Scarlett Johansson plays Natalie Rushman, Stark's very devilish personal assistant.  She can handle the toughest of the tough, performing ninja like moves without even messing up her hair! Go girl! Mickey Rourke joins the cast as a Ivac Vanko,  a  wicked Russian with a taste for revenge; a man that is not at all pleased withTony Stark. The plot now thickens. Rourke's performance as an evil villain was excellent.  Director Jon Favreau has what it takes to make all these characters come to life; you don't want it to end.  He even added a cameo fromCNN Anchor Christiane Amanpour for a little authenticity.
Some of the twists and turns I found to be predictable, but at the same time there were plenty of surprises.  I would have liked to see more banter between Stark and Pepper...maybe in the Iron Man 3. It looks like Iron Man will be a trilogy.
Music by AC/DC heightens the adrenaline rush one experiences;  as you are rocked out at the edge of your seat. Don't wait till video, this is a must see in an IMAX theatre!  It will blow you away. Do stay till the very last credits;  there is a surprise foreshadowing as to whats to come!
