    Your Vietnamese journey

    From Saigon to San Antonio

My dad was in the South Vietnamese airforce and came to San Antonio for training in the 60s where he made friends with the Hank Ablright family. When the communists overran the south, he moved us to his office on an airforce base where we lived for a month while bombs were falling around us. Luckily we made it out during the fall of Saigon, and we came to San Antonio where the Albrights helped us on our feet. We grew up poor but happy, and dad put himself through school and went on to have a good career as a computer programmer at USAA.
