Letter to Ingred Betancourt
I saw you Ingrid on Larry King tonight. When the show ended I wanted to express my admiration for what a courageous woman you are. I wanted to tell you that you are amazing. Your concern for others under such diplorable conditions is heroic. I saw the hurt in your eyes and on your face as you were refusing to give details about the suffering you endured. You would only say it was hell (and I knew it was the worst kind of hell). I recall you saying when you were rescued how you hugged everyone that was around. I wanted to hug you too. I think most of all I will remember you for your poise and your humility. I searched for a place to send you an email or some kind of personal message of encourgement but I didn't find one. So if by chance you happen by, I want to say the world is a better place because of you Ingred. I hope that you finally find peace with your family and I pray that your friends are soon freed too.... All my love and respect, Bob
