Rescue Hummer Doesn't Use Gasoline
Alternative Vehicle Soultions of Salt Lake City, Utah converted this Hummer for use as a rescue vehicle. It has a range of up to 600 miles on compressed natural gas (CNG).
With the per gallon price of CNG just a fraction of the cost of gasoline, CNG conversion are becoming quite popular in specific geographic areas across the United States, including Utah. The current cost of a gallon of CNG in Utah is under a dollar. With the current federal subsidies, the cost of conversion is paid off in short time.
CNG burns cleaner than gasoline and its increased use in transportation is a key element towards the goal of achieving domestic energy independence.
This video segment was shot at the Alternative Fuels and Vehicles conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
