My volunteer vacation |
World Vets Nicaragua Trip
My name is Katherine Makowski and I am a third year veterinary student attending University College Dublin School of Veterinary Medicine in Dublin, Ireland. Last week I traveled to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua with the non-profit organization World Vets to provide free veterinary care for the local community. Our three day clinic was held at the Stones and Waves Veterinary Clinic in Rivas, Nicaragua. The group provided free spays, neuters, as well as necessary medicine and parasite control for the animals. As this area does not have regular access to small animal veterinarians, the free clinics offered by World Vets make a huge difference to the people and animals in this community.
