Although I have come a long way to walk the right path, I still have a very long way to go. A few years ago, we were both working good jobs, making decent money. My fiancé and confidant lost his job due to the company downsizing. This was the beginning of a spiral affect of obstacles. He was diligently seeking a job, he found one, but you know when you start a new job it takes up to three weeks to get that first check. To make a long story short, we were evicted a day before Thanksgiving Day in 2003. My fiancé, our two boys, and I lived in a small hotel room. After a few months, we were able to kind of get on our feet. Before then, I always wanted to do what I am doing now, but I was afraid. I was so afraid to go after and push for what I believed in, because I feared losing everything. Funny, I lost almost everything anyway. I use to always question, "how am I going to accomplish anything without money?" We eventually found a place to say shortly after our car was repossessed. We lost welfare benefits that helped with childcare that we could not afford. Something came over me... trust God. Stop being scared to do what God has placed on my heart and trust that God he will make a way. At first, I thought I was being punished because every time I reached out for financial help, I was denied. Then it dawned on me, I needed to do this without money so I could say, "God made it possible!" God knows what He has to do to get me to fight. He knows that I am a better fighter when my back is up against the wall or if I am backed into a corner. He has made a way out of no way... When I tell you, I do what I do by God's GRACE... I do not know why He put it on my heart to share this with you today... At the moment on the first day we stepped foot into the hotel that I decided no matter what, I am going to trust God and keep pushing through the fear. I took a leap of Faith, and through God's GRACE, I am able to do the film, the book, the radio show, and all that I am doing because God placed amazing people in my path to help push along the vision. Until now, I thought I should not share with anyone that I have come this far with little to no money. I thought if people believe I have money, so be it, let them believe that. Until today, March 7, 2008, I thought, "this is my testimony and God has placed it on my heart to share what He has done for me." I still have a ways to go; the missions have not been accomplished, yet. This is not for your pity, nor is it for a pat on my back... God did it! This is to show you that with God anything is possible. This is to tell you that if God has placed something on your heart to do, Trust that He will make a way for it to manifest with your willingness to do the work. He will open doors that you never thought would open. He will place the right people in your life. He will remove obstacles out of your way. Do not let things like money stop you. Where there is a will, there is a way. He will show you what you need to do, but you have to be willing to listen. God placed in on my heart today to share this with you... Whatever fears you allow to hold you back from being what God needs you to be, let it go. I still have fears, but everyday I push my way through them, with God's grace. Thank you for reading my testimony. Know that God is still in control regardless of how things may look on the outside, trust that it is for a reason. You are equipped to endure whatever comes against you. See it as an opportunity to do and be better... not as an attack. It is not personal; God is preparing you for what He needs you to be.
