Flash flooding in California
With monsoon moisture in place, California's Mojave Desert received much needed moisture Sunday, sparking flash floods in the process. Travelers along Highway 14, 3/4 miles north of the Hwy 178 Lake Isabella turn off, were fortunate. New drainage engineering in this location not only prevented delays, but insured safe passage. The new drainage system was constructed nearly 4 years ago, due to lives lost at this location. Storm date - July 13, 2008
