Mr. Bonds
I had the opportunity to meet Barry Bonds at Coors field. A friend of mine used to play minor league baseball with Barry and he invited me to sit in the seats that Barry reserved for him. During the game, Barry would look up from the dugout and wave to us. He didn't start the game, but pinch hit in the 8th inning and laced a single to right.
After the game, we went down to meet Barry and he was a very cool guy. He shook my hand and posed for this picture. We all stood around joined by Aaron Cook and Ray King talking baseball. Barry was a gentleman to me and even though he was talking to his buddy and other Rockies players, he made a point to make eye contact with me and draw me into the conversation.
Regardless of Barry's reputation, he was a class guy during the 15 minutes or so that I spent with him. He is still the best overall hitter that I have ever seen.
