This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your baseball heroes |
Hangin' out at the Mall
I've met a few ball players in my time. Unfortunately, my favourite ball player, Lou Gehrig, died 33 years before I was born. I have met Willie Stargel, Rollie Fingers, Dave Winfield, and Pete Rose to name a f ew. My dad actually took a swing at Rose once at a card signing show. Pete was sitting behind a table siging my 1975 Pete Rose Topps card. I asked a question of him, he responded rudely, and my dad launched a right hook at Pete's jaw. Pete leaned back in his chair to avoid my father's large fist and fell backward out of his chair to the floor. THUD! My dad cursed him until we were gently escorted out of the hotel ball room. My father further cemented his role as my hero that day. Dad's still lookin' for Pete. I'll be there, ready to hold Pete down.
