    Superman battles Doomsday in Metropolis

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     This event for Superman fans has been taking place for 32 years and scott54170 has been going for four years. This year they unveiled a new statue of Lois Lane.

    Superman battled Doomsday in an epic battle in Metropolis Illinois today shortly before the Superhero costume contest.  The official Superman of Metropolis posed for pictures with Doomsday (portrayed by Andrew Chandler)  Doomsday is the only villian to ever defeat Superman in the comics history.  Chandler went on to win fan favorite for his Doomsday costume.
