Lagrange, Missouri
Calm Dog Shot By Lagrange Missouri Police.
This dog was first chained to the trailer, wagging its tail. The only "aggregation" shown by this dog was after having a steel cable noose put around it's neck for about 10 mins. Yes, it panicked when the catch pole came out but that is to be expected. Most animals will panic when a catch pole is looped around their neck by a stranger.
Maybe before police deal with animals they should educate themselves on animal behaviour. The dog was showing SUBMISSION by rolling over and exposing his stomach then, wagging his tail before it was shot the 2nd time, in the head. That dog was not aggressive in the least bit for the length of the video.
Dogs get stressed at the vets and lunge, and try to nip....do vets put them down? Hell no. I can understand that police need to protect themselves....but in this case, protect themselves from what? Watch the video and see how the coward shoots the dog while its just standing STILL.
Never mind calling the chief of police to complain, who likely will justify his officer's actions, email the elected officials and ask why this is allowed to happen. And the owner gets charged? Poor dog was just a victim of ignorance and lazyness by two cops who had no desire to deal with this situation any further. Why was animal control not called?
I hope the ASPCA now get involved. And I hope the public who read this take some action.
Since when do the Police get to be judge, jury, and excutioner? I dont care how cropped that video was. I SEEN a timid dog, standing calm in restraint for 10 mins, waiting like it was BORED. The two officers names are DOUG Howell (shooter) and Powell, Police chief is Police Chief Dale McNelly. They should all be fired, period.
I really worry about the human race if peace makers like this continue to be given charge.
