This iReport is part of an assignment:
Car sales: What's driving you? |
Stretching MPG's
I wouldn't trade my '04 Saturn Ion in for anything right now. Averaging 35 MPG on the highway, I figure I am doing a lot better than some other driver's out there on the road. But, regardless of my MPG's I still have to cringe at my bill with $4.15 gasoline. When I do drive, I use all the tricks and hints in the book to make every drop of fuel count.
On my days off from work, I don't drive my car unless it is absolutely necessary. In fact, for my in and around town commuting I use a bicycle and a back-pack. Which, during the Florida summer can be a sweaty endeavor. But, sweat is free and doesn't cost 4 bucks a gallon.
I would love to see an automobile manufacturer roll-out the "model t" for $150 barrel oil. If anyone would debut that car today, I would be in line for it yesterday.
