    Meeting Tony Gwynn

Growing up a chubby kid playing little league baseball in the San Diego area, I loved to watch Tony Gwynn. He was an amazing hitter and fielder, even with a couple of extra pounds on him. In the mid 90's I moved to Utah but contiunued to follow Gwynn and the Padres. After his retirement from baseball in 2001, Tony became the head coach of San Diego State's baseball team. On May 8th of this year the Aztecs were in town for a series against BYU. I went to the game early hoping to meet my childhood hero. Tony was kind enough to sign my bat and take a picture.  He is a great guy.  Thanks Mr. Padre!
