    Flowers planted at VA clinic in Lincoln, Maine

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RogerNamVet says that planting flowers at the VA clinic has been therapeutic for him. “The trip is 90 miles roundtrip, but it is worth it for my own therapy. It pleased the veterans, it pleased the staff, and veterans would stop to talk to me about what I was doing.” He recently went back to check on the flowers, and was happy to see them still alive. "In Maine, to see flowers still living is really incredible. They looked like old friends, the gift that keeps on giving.”

    This is my latest, 2 minute video of the flowers I've been planting at the VA clinic in Lincoln, Maine. I've spent about $500 on gas and flowers, as it's a 45 mile drive to the clinic, BUT IT HAS BEEN GOOD THERAPY.  And, the staff keeps me healthy....LOL

     

    Nobody comes to my house, which is five acres of wild flowers and trees and grass, that I have to mow. God! LOL So why bother planting there.

    At the clinic, the flowers please the staff, who admire the flowers, and I get to talk to some of the veterans, some of whom like the look of the flowers.

    It's not a big deal, but it keeps me occupied and gives me good feelings.
