My artwork has always been a reflection on the social phenomena that most pertinently affect us all. It's my own personal way of coming to terms with the ridiculous behaviors we enact and the consequences that ensue.
Chopping up coins to make art began in 2008, during the presidential election, and has evolved since then to address many more facets of our financial predicament. Now, with the Oil gushing indefinitely into the Ocean, I've turned my attention to the animals upon whom BP is unloading a different sort of toxic assets.
I am making these creatures from money, because ultimately, their fate was sealed by our quest for profit.
